I first came across Pawpaw Consultancy when I needed some appraisal training to be delivered to line managers at my organisation. They tailored their course to our needs, and rolled out our new appraisal scheme to different management groups using our in-house forms and policy. They helped managers with a range of experience and expertise to get the skills to properly appraise and support their teams, and really sold the benefits of doing appraisal well.
Nina and Anna were knowledgeable, approachable and friendly - and at the end of the appraisal training programme, I asked them to develop a line management course to help some of our newer managers to develop a broad range of management skills. Again, they listened carefully to what we needed and put together a programme that was practical and well-structured. They rolled the different elements of the training out over 9 months with a day-long course each month. It was a really positive experience to see that group of managers build their confidence across the organisation, and work together in a far more collaborative way.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pawpaw Consultancy for training and management support. They really made a difference and they were very easy to work with.
Nina Waters at Pawpaw Consultancy has provided HR services to Green Light International over many years. The help she’s given us ranges from informal advice about how to take forwards a difficult staffing situation, to managing organisational change and recruitment.
The first time I got in touch with Nina, it was to ask for help with a recruitment exercise that had overwhelmed us - as a small organisation, we’d been inundated with applications for a key administrative role and I needed help shortlisting them. Nina got to work in sifting the (hundreds of!) applications and then doing first round interviews and tests with the applicants. What was important to me was that Nina really represented my company - she was able to talk knowledgeably about our work and create a really positive impression for all the applicants, whether or not they were appointed.
At the end of the project, Nina presented me with a short list of three candidates that she was confident could do the role well, and a detailed summary of their strengths and weaknesses, and potential organisational fit - I carried out second interviews and was so pleased that all of them were actually appointable! We were delighted with the contribution made, and the appointed candidate proved to be a brilliant member of the team. Nina’s services were FAR better value than a recruitment agency would have been, and at all times I felt that she was working for my organisation as a seamless part of the organisation.
